As a native to California, Angela's journey started by gardening in the Central Valley's lush soils and took a long hiatus as she worked in Silicon Valley's high-tech finance arena. After returning to her passion for horticulture in 2008, she focused on learning about ecology, and specifically California native plants, which play an essential role in curbing the impact of our environmental crisis.
After designing, planting, and maintaining an acre property in Los Gatos for the past ten years, as well as a number of other native plant designs, Angela formalized her training at Foothill College in the Environmental Horticulture Program, finishing in 2024. At Foothill College she is the co-director of 'Native Plant Hill', a design and build project which will be the center of horticulture education and a demonstration garden for the Environmental Horticulture program.
Additionally, she has the following professional affiliations:
- Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper, Certified (QWEL)
- California Native Plant Society (CNPS) Santa Clara Valley Member and former exhibitor
- Aesthetic Pruners Association Member (APA)
- Association of Professional Landscape Designers Member (APLD)
